Lotus Motorsport will be bringing a selection of vehicles to exhibit during the Lotus Festival, a selection of those already confirmed is listed below.
Lotus Exige V6 Cup & Lotus Exige V6 Cup Race Car
Lotus Motorsport will be displaying TWO fully spec’d Lotus Exige V6 Cup cars and will be on hand to explain the various options that the track day car and race version offer.
The Exige V6 Cup is aimed at those who want a purposeful cup car for track days whilst being road legal to provide maximum safety, fun and performance without the need for a trailer or team of mechanics. While the Cup car will also be available in full race specification allowing drivers to race in all Lotus Cup race series including Lotus Cup UK and Europe with a single specification for all drivers. The track car will also be fully upgradeable to race spec at a later date if required.
Lotus Type 125
The ultimate race car ownership experience, the Lotus Type 125 is the closest thing to purchasing your very own Formula One car.
Inspired by the very pinnacle of race machinery anywhere in the world and with club membership limited to a mere 25, the Lotus Type 125 and Exos club is all about exclusivity and ultimate enjoyment. The car is designed to give a breathless and authentic Formula One experience while being forgiving, safe, reliable and possible for a mere mortal to drive.
The Type 125’s 640bhp 3.5 litre Cosworth V8 engine – much like the one used in IndyCar – is linked to a six-speed gearbox with paddle shift. The car’s featherweight 560kg results in a phenomenal power-to-weight of nearly 1000bhp per tonne.
You’re never too old to drive a Lotus. You’re never too young either. Arguably the most fun, raw and inspirational racing machine to come out of the Lotus stable packs a mere 100cc.
With last year’s move into karting, Group Lotus was the only car manufacturer to have a presence at the entry level of motorsport, and that gave them a head-start when it came to talent spotting, along with adding another variation of racing to their expertise.
Lotus Evora GT4
Developed from the highly acclaimed Lotus Evora sports car, the Lotus Evora GT4 race car has been engineered to give drivers a competitive racing package straight ‘out of the box’.
Lotus Motorsport has developed the Lotus Evora GT4 race car in conjunction with a number of prestigious technical partners. As such it features a world class chassis, steering and brakes, resulting in exceptional handling. A naturally-aspirated V6 engine is managed by Cosworth Electronics Systems, delivers 445Nm of torque @ 5500 rpm powering the rear wheels through a 6-speed sequential gear box, with a paddle shift option (see spec sheet).
Lotus Elise & Evora Lotus Driving Academy Cars
On top of all the others Lotus Motorsport will also be bringing 2 cars from their Lotus Driving Academy. These cars are used on a daily basis to fulfill thrillseekers dreams at the safe FIA specification Lotus test track, Hethel.
The academy offers professional coaching to beginner, intermediate or advanced track drivers and the cars are very quick in the right hands. The Elise can reach 0-60mph in just 6 seconds, and the Evora, which is only let loose with advanced drivers has an even faster acceleration of just 4.6 seconds.
